MyCareFile

Privacy policy

Last updated 1 November 2026

In short: the MyCareFile app keeps the health information you enter on your own iPhone or iPad. We don't collect it, we can't see it, and it is never sent to us. The only personal information we hold is what you choose to give us: your email address if you join the waitlist, and anything you write to us.

Who we are

MyCareFile is an app and website made in New South Wales, Australia. In this policy, "we" and "us" mean MyCareFile. You can contact us at hello@mycarefile.com.au.

The MyCareFile app

What stays on your device

Everything you enter in the app, including names, health conditions, medicines, allergies, doctors, appointments, measurements, family history, photos and notes, is stored only on your device, encrypted. The key that unlocks it is kept in your device's secure Keychain. There is no MyCareFile account and no MyCareFile server holding your records.

What we collect

Nothing. The app has no analytics, tracking or advertising, and does not send your information to us or anyone else.

When information leaves your device

Only when you choose to send it:

Apple Health

If you tap Import from Apple Health, MyCareFile asks your permission to read the readings you choose (such as blood pressure and weight). It reads them on your device and keeps them encrypted there. MyCareFile never writes to Apple Health, never sends Health information anywhere, and never uses it for advertising or any purpose other than showing it to you in the app. You can change this permission at any time in the Health app.

Camera and photos

If you add a profile photo, MyCareFile uses the camera or photo you choose. The photo is stored inside the encrypted profile on your device.

Purchases

Purchases are made through Apple's App Store. Apple handles payment and tells the app only what you have bought. We don't receive your name, Apple ID or payment details. Apple's own privacy policy applies to the App Store.

Testing (TestFlight)

If you test MyCareFile before launch through Apple's TestFlight, Apple shares with us the email address you were invited with, and any feedback, screenshots and crash reports you choose to send. Please check screenshots don't show health details you'd rather keep private.

This website

The waitlist

If you join the waitlist, we collect your email address and, if you give them, your first name and who you would use MyCareFile for. We use them only to tell you about MyCareFile's launch and news. Every email includes a way to unsubscribe, or you can email us to be removed.

Where it is stored

The website is hosted by Netlify, and waitlist sign-ups are stored by Netlify, which may store data outside Australia, including in the United States. If we later use an email service to send our newsletter, your details will be kept there too, and we'll update this policy to name it.

Cookies and tracking

This website doesn't use cookies, analytics or advertising trackers. Like any website, our host keeps standard server logs (such as IP addresses) for security and to keep the site running.

Email to us

If you email us, including through Send feedback in the app, we receive what you write and your email address, and use them only to reply and improve MyCareFile. Please don't include health details in feedback.

Children

Parents and carers may keep records about children in the app. Those records stay on the parent's device like everything else. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children.

Access, correction and complaints

Your app records are on your device: you can view, change or delete them at any time, and deleting the app deletes them. To see, correct or delete the waitlist details we hold, email hello@mycarefile.com.au and we'll respond within 30 days. If you have a concern about how we've handled your information, contact us first. If you're not satisfied, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle information, we'll update this page and its date. If the app ever needs to collect anything, we'll explain it clearly in the app first.
